UPNEEQ (oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution), 0.1%
Upneeq® (oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution 0.1%) is the first and only FDA‑approved prescription eyedrop that lifts droopy eyelids (acquired ptosis) in adults. With a single daily drop, Upneeq activates the eyelid’s Müller’s muscle to gently raise the upper lid, helping eyes appear more open and improving the upper visual field.
Most patients begin noticing results within minutes, with the maximum lift typically seen around 2 hours and lasting up to 8 hours. Upneeq is easy to use, preservative‑free, and supplied in single‑use vials for safe, hygienic application.
Upneeq may be an option for adults experiencing low‑lying lids due to age‑related changes, muscle fatigue, or acquired ptosis. It can be used with contact lenses (after a 15‑minute wait) and alongside most other ophthalmic medications.
Upneeq offers a non‑surgical, fast‑acting way to lift the eyelids and refresh the appearance of the eyes while supporting functional vision.
The most common adverse reactions (1-5%) were eye inflammation, eye redness, dry eye, blurred vision and headache.
