NICOLE HUMPHREY

Nicole is a dedicated board-certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner originally from St. Louis, Missouri. Her passion for healthcare began when she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University College of Nursing in 2012. Driven by her commitment to continuous education, Nicole pursued further studies at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri, graduating in 2017 as an AGNP. Nicole has an extensive background as a nurse in diverse units such as Telemetry, Medical/Surgical, Dialysis, and Step-down ICU.

For over three years, Nicole worked as an RN with Veterans, developing a comprehensive plan of care that was tailored to meet the specific needs of each Veteran under her care.  She actively engaged with other members of the healthcare team, including doctors, nurses, therapists, social workers, and family members, to gather as much information as possible about each Veteran's medical history, emotional well-being, and social support systems. Nicole enjoyed educating her patients regarding their medications, procedures, and treatments. Furthermore, Nicole believed in the power of building strong relationships with her patients. She would spend time discussing their individual goals, preferences, and concerns to gain a deeper understanding of their needs and goals.  Nicole was exposed to dermatological conditions and trained in wound care, including complex and simple dressing changes. She was really drawn to the specialty, and this would later lead to her decision to focus her career on dermatology.

When Nicole became an NP, she dedicated one year to performing in-home assessments. This experience further solidified her commitment to delivering patient-centered care and honed her skills in conducting comprehensive assessments and screenings.

Nicole then focused her career on Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine in an underserved clinic in Southern Illinois. During that time, she gained valuable insight into the specific needs and challenges patients face in this unique setting.

Nicole strongly believes in providing compassionate and empathetic care to her patients and strives to help them achieve their best possible quality of life through evidence-based medical care. She is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of her patients by providing high-quality, personalized care. Her dedication, compassion, and expertise make her an essential part of the DreamTeam!

 

Aside from her professional pursuits, Nicole enjoys spending quality time with her family, engaging in physical activities like jogging, exploring the world through audiobooks, and embarking on memorable travel adventures.
