VIRTUAL CARE

What is Virtual Care?

Virtual Care also known as Telehealth or a Virtual Visit, is the use of technology to connect with your healthcare provider remotely. Most virtual visits, whether a phone call, communicating through the portal or a video call, take up very little of your time, most likely no more than 15-30 minutes for the entire process. Schedule a Virtual Visit on your time and when it is convenient for you.

A Virtual Visit is not only for a tech savvy individual, we will help you through the entire process and ensure you have everything you need for this visit. If you are unable to take pictures of the concerning spots, you can ask your family or caregiver to assist you and we can communicate with them to receive the pictures.

This visit may be right for you if:

  • You have a diagnosis that does not require a procedure or treatment by a provider

  • A medication review or refill is needed

  • You would like your symptoms to be evaluated without waiting for an in-person appointment

  • You need to provide a visual update of a lesion or wound being monitored

  • You would like to review and possibly update your care plan

DermRight offers:
  • Store and forward or asynchronous visits occur on-demand with no interaction in real time with your healthcare provider. You provide the requested information regarding your condition. At a separate time, your healthcare provider will review your case and then respond with the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up plan. At that time, you will also have the chance to schedule a synchronous or in-person visit.

  • Synchronous visits are telehealth visits that occur in real time where both you and your provider are communicating and exchanging information during your scheduled appointment.

Will my insurance cover a virtual visit?

Virtual visits for new and established patients are covered by most insurance plans. If applicable, all copays, coinsurance, and deductibles will apply per the terms of your plan. During your virtual visit, if it is determined that an in-person visit is necessary, the in-person visit and all follow-up virtual care or in-person visits are considered additional visits and will be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement.

How do I get started?

To move forward, you will need to provide basic information about the patient and the reason for the visit, plus provide pictures of the concerning area. When we receive the request for a Virtual Visit, we will contact you within 1-2 business days to guide you through the process. Established patients can use the link to start a virtual visit or they may log into the PATIENT PORTALIf you have additional questions please email vist@dermright.com.
